Lehigh Construction Group’s Restoration of Historic Buffalo Church Honored as Best in N.Y.
Conversion of Asbury Church into Righteous Babe Headquarters,
Music Venue, & Contemporary Arts Center
This landmark project in downtown Buffalo involved the complete
restoration of a historic church into a performing arts center for
locally-born artist Ani DiFranco.
Highlights of the exterior work include a new slate roof, re-pointing of all the masonry, and restoration of stained glass. Pictures above demonstrate the extensive scaffolding system that was required to finish the brick work on the steeple.
On the interior, Lehigh is installing a new geothermal heating and cooling system and new stairway. All of the woodwork throughout the church will be refinished, and the existing basement has been excavated to increase ceiling height.
